Toronto Zenith constructed a new grade separation and pumping station to alleviate traffic congestion, prevent flooding on the roadway, and prepare for the future expansion of the CN track and a new Metrolinx station.
Objectives
- Replace existing railway bridge
- Construct a new grade separation and multi-lane roadway
- Build and commission a storm water pumping station, a new water main and a sanitary sewer system
- Install 9m high shoring wall for track protection
- Construct new structures while re-routing train and vehicular traffic
- Manage relationships with businesses and members of the public
- Integrate new sanitary sewer system while temporarily diverting old system
Key Aspects
- Constructed a two span CNR railway steel tub girder bridge
- Built and commissioned a storm water pumping station with a 7m deep wet well
- Constructed a water main running below Centennial Parkway
- Provided extensive landscaping, including decorative armour stone
